Year 6 Big Day Out
This Year 6 Leavers voted for a Big Day Out in Launceston instead of a traditional Year 6 Dinner. Yesterday students enjoyed visiting the Launceston Aquatic Centre, AirTime 360 and having a meal together at Hog’s Breath Café. Thank you to Mr Gee, Mrs Coates and our admin staff for organising such a fun and memorable day. We wish our Year 6 students a successful transition into high school.

This money will be donated to the Salvation Army to support families in our community in need. Thank you for supporting our events throughout the year.
A MESSAGE TO THE 2022 LEADERS
If you want to be a leader in 2022 do not be scared. Nominate and say why you want to be a leader and no one will judge you. Share your ideas, but most of all be an up stander, not a bystander. We hope the 2022 leaders can continue to offer fun things for the WUPS community and give back to the wider community. I’m sure we’ll have an amazing group of student leaders that will make 2022 a fun and exciting year.
Merry Christmas

Another year over! It has been amazing to see the growth made by all Kinder/Prep students in lots of different ways.
Our Prep’s favourite memories:
Blayke—I liked doing Prep stuff like work and learning and running. I like playing Sonic outside.
Lilly—I liked being the best, doing everything, all the jobs, everyone being nice to everyone.
Billie—My favourite thing about Prep is that I’m almost in grade 1.
Leo— I liked playing with my friends.
Indey—I liked going to the pool (picnic) and Miss Finch put her feet in the little pool.
A big thankyou to our Kinder families for the support and trust in looking after your children in their first year of school. For those who could make it, we hope you enjoyed your breakfast yesterday!
Miss Finch, Mrs Robertson, Sharon and Mrs Scott
I can’t believe the school year of 2021 has come to an end already. It feels like we only just started a few weeks ago, when I met the wonderful group of students that I have had the privilege of spending each weekday with. I guess the saying of ‘time flies when you are having fun’ is the perfect way to describe it.
I would like to thank the families of this class for supporting us and praise the students for showing me a dedication to achieving their goals. We began the year comparing ourselves as learners to being a collective bag of uncooked popcorn. Where every kernel ‘pops’ at a different time. We end this year as a collective bucket of movie-ready popcorn having all had the opportunity to become successful in our learning journey.
I am confident in saying that the students from 1-2A are ready and able to take on the learning challenges they will face next year.
I wish you all a very merry Christmas and hope that you take the time to enjoy the holidays, to relax and recharge.
Best wishes,
Ms Deet Cox
As is always the case, the end of the school year is a busy and exciting time that passes by incredibly quickly. 1-2B students have been displaying the school value of ‘courage’ consistently through this time which has been fantastic to watch.
Our students have been working to apply the skills learnt over the course of the year in authentic contexts which has resulted in many exciting moments within the classroom. Watching students consolidate skills in all areas has been a real highlight this year – particularly throughout the second half of term 4.
As we head into the Christmas holidays the 1-2B teaching team would like to wish all our students and families a safe and happy break- as well as extend a huge thank you for your constant support and communication throughout the year.
I look forward to seeing all our learners back next year and will be keeping a close eye as they continue their educational journey.
Mr Alex French
On Thursday the 9th of December, 3/4A and 3/4B ventured to Devonport for an end of year fun day out excursion. Our adventure started at Ten Pin Bowling where we played two games of bowling and had loads of fun.
We then caught the bus down to the Devonport Bluff and ate our body weight in hot chips, pizza and juice. We spent the afternoon at the bluff playing on the sand and on the playground. We soon discovered that a full tummy and spinny playground equipment don’t mix...
We had a super fun day and came home full, tired and happy.
Miss Eryn Connell & Mr Campbell Barnett
On Wednesday, December 15, Year 6 Students participated in their end of year celebrations by having a 'Big Day Out'. Year 6 Students travelled to Launceston via bus and went to the Launceston Aquatic Centre, Hog's Breath Cafe and Airtime 360. The day was action packed and filled with laughs.
