We are so proud of these 5 students who are WUPS first ever Children’s University Graduates. We hope to see more students participate in 2023. A big thank you to Mrs Crawford for her leadership of the program.

WUPS Community
Thank you for bringing our vision to life “At WUPS everyone is welcomed and respected”. Our afternoon celebrating learning was created by students under the leadership of Mrs Crawford. Our event opened in the hall listening to WUPS Music group singing ‘Waving Through a Window’. Each time this group performs students’ confidence and stage presence increases.
Thank you to Mr French for making this experience possible. This was followed by our drama classes (Year 1-6 students) singing All Stars by Smash Mouth. Again we saw students pure delight performing on stage. Students have been practising in drama classes each week in preparation for this performance. Well done students and Mrs Martin. An open invite to visit each classroom in the school followed our performances. Classrooms showcased learning and offered challenges. for families to do together. The Finch family won the tower building challenge in Mr Gee’s room, Billie from 1/2A made the most creative box work in Launching into Learning (birth – 4 space), Arie and her dad showed the most interest about STEAM and electricity with Mrs Coates. This is just a few of the interactive session staff provided for families.
We hope you enjoyed the event and that you felt “welcome and respected”, we will use your feedback to plan next year’s celebration of learning. Thank you to WUPS staff for preparing this event.

Staffing Update
I would like to share that I have been appointed as the recommended candidate as Principal of Penguin District School, starting Term 1 2023. The appointment is pending the standard 14-day review period. I am excited about this opportunity, but also sad to be leaving WUPS. I have loved my 4.5 years working at WUPS as Principal. We have an amazing school. I am Principal at WUPS until the end of the year and am committed to supporting you and your family. There will be a process to appoint an Acting Principal for Term 1 and I will communicate the result of this process when I am able.
